Chris Azar, “YOU GOT FLOWERED” on Kelley & Cassandra LIVE

You Got Flowered Chris

YOU GOT FLOWERED didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. Even the owner of Always in Bloom delivering the special bouquet couldn’t hold back the tears as her nomination letter was read on air live with Kelley & Cassandra LIVE on 1380 The Woman. Please read the lovely letter written for Mother, Chris Azar who works at the Winfield-Foley fire department station 3 by her daughter Erin.

Nomination Letter:

“I would like to nominate my mother to have flowers delivered to her work. She is truly the strongest woman I have ever met. Not only has she been through many bad times in her life and still manages to keep a smile on her face and not let it show that she has been hurt. I have only honestly seen her at her worst once and this was this past December. On December 12th she fell out of the shower and broke a bone in her shoulder. She stayed overnight in the hospital and returned to work the next day. The next few days she realized that her pain was growing in her shoulder and never got better, she called her doctors and they recommended taking a Tylenol to see if it would help. On the 15th of December she went back into the hospital without knowing who her husband or any of her four daughters were. She had no clue who or where she was. This was not only her hardest moment in her life but mine as well. She has always been my rock, the one I go to when I am down and the one that I needed. The tables were turned and she needed me along with my three sisters. We spent countless nights and days at the hospital before she came to her senses and began to function normally. As soon as she realized what had happened, that being she had a minor heart attack and lost a lot of fluids, doctors said she was very close to death when we brought her in, she put on her smile and continued like it wasn’t a big deal and that she was thankful to be alive. The medicine reacted differently when being taken with the Tylenol and caused her many issues. Her kidneys and liver levels were very low. It was a very scary time for us, but once she could comprehend what was happening she began to be my rock again and would tell me everything is alright and God is on our side. As much pain as she was in and how close to living her life, not once did she pity herself or ever ask for more than she couldn’t do. Between the ICU, hospital, and rehab center she did not get release until mid-January this year. She was not able to attend Christmas or the New Year functions, and did not want her family to miss out on them because she was healing in the rehab centers. Yet against her wishes we spent Christmas with her although “Santa” didn’t bring many presents this year, it was still the best Christmas I have ever had. Knowing I was on the verge of losing my mother and that I was able to spend another Christmas with her meant more than any presents could bring.

Even after coming home and trying to adjust were her still healing shoulder and effects from her kidney and liver damages, she did not complain about anything. She tried to do everything she could on her own, pushing more limits than she should have, she did everything with a smile. Not only does she deserve these flowers because of all she has went through in just this past year, but she deserves them for being such an inspiration to never hate life and to always look on the bright side of things.

I know this email does not do its justice on explaining how much my mother deserves these flowers and so much more, but I hope it is enough to get her “flowered”

 Thank you,”
